We are often asked: What does Brigadoon look like when it isn't Brigadoon?

Is there life in Brigadoon? Is there music?

What do you people do when the rest of the Brigadoners are still at (ohmygod) jobs?
Is there life during the week before the shows start?     Well, now it can be told.

Well, first of all, we send Dave out to scout, and see if the tree grew during the off-season. (This is NOT our tree.)

For much of the year, the Walnut River runs slowly near the grounds.  The grass grows, the breeze blows. Serenity is in the air, and young women stand in the fields.

But then, on Friday, the first of the rolling metal boxes and tents (and porta-potties) arise and Brigadoon rises anew.

The first session begins, and everyone falls asleep, exhausted by 10:30.  (This is the last time that anyone will be in bed before midnight.) A light rain begins to fall, indicating that we, are indeed, back in Brigadoon.

Dave and Trish arrive at 8:30, and begin marking the boundaries. Chris and Stephanie arrive by 3:00, and the first official "group beer" is consumed at 3:05

The "blender and lights" pole is discovered. . .
